Brent N. Bahler, Vice President of Public Affairs
Brent N. Bahler is vice president of public affairs at the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC). In this role, he directs strategic communications for the organization’s media relations, issue advocacy, and member event activities. He also led the development of the association’s mutual brand, and oversees management of the brand program.
Bahler began his professional career as a radio news director, then as a newspaper editor. His interest in politics and issues led him to Washington, D.C., where he held senior-level positions on both Capitol Hill and in the executive branch of the federal government. He spent more than a decade as a media and communications consultant serving more than 20 national trade associations, advocacy groups, and major corporations. His work in support of free-market initiatives has helped influence legislative and regulatory debates throughout the country.
Bahler received his Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri Valley College. He has lectured on strategic communications in public affairs at both American University and George Washington University. He and his wife Carlene are the parents of one daughter, Grace.
