Convention Central

If you’ve been on the 124thAnnual Convention webpage lately, you might have noticed a slight name change to the NAMIC Annual Golf Outing. That’s because proceeds from the event will now benefit the NAMIC Mutual Insurance Foundation Scholarship

“The property/casualty insurance industry’s impending talent gap is a very real concern,” said Chuck Chamness, NAMIC’s president and CEO. “As industry professionals, it is critical that we pave a path to attract new talent and do our part to assist in setting those individuals up for success. We saw the golf outing as a great new fundraising opportunity for the NAMIC Mutual Insurance Foundation Scholarship, which is awarded annually to deserving students pursuing a degree in insurance or risk management.”

Attending the golf outing is also a fun way to start your week at Convention and provides an excellent opportunity to network and reconnect with NAMIC friends. The outing will begin Sept. 20, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at Renditions Golf Club in Davidsonville, Md. The unique 18-hole course boasts a collection of hole replicas from major championship venues, including Augusta National Golf Club, Oakmont Golf Club, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Royal Birkdale, and Carnoustie. The U.S. Open, PGA Tour, and Masters Tournament are just a few of the internationally recognized golf championships that have been hosted at some of the venues Renditions’ holes are replicated after. Visit the Renditions website to learn more about the course and read a detailed hole-by-hole description.

Registration for the golf outing is available as an option on NAMIC’s Annual Convention registration form. If you’re already registered for Convention but want to attend the golf outing, you can still add it by completing the registration addition form online. The registration fee for a single golfer is $260 and includes transportation from Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, a light breakfast, lunch buffet, and golf cart.

For more information about the tournament and to register, visit the Convention’s optional activities page. If you are unable to attend the outing but still want to show your support for the scholarship program, please consider hosting a foursome. Contact Tonya Suits for more information.
