In-Person Event Attendance
In addition to the self-study curriculum, all MIP participants must attend a NAMIC in-person event before taking the final exam. This requirement is intended to further your industry knowledge and provide networking opportunities. There are no specific courses that must be completed in person. Rather, students are expected to immerse themselves in the NAMIC event experience by participating in sessions, workshops, and roundtables with their peers.
Exam
The Mutual Insurance Professional certification exam is administered online and consists of a randomized series of multiple-choice and true/false questions from the program self-study curriculum. Detailed instructions on how to access and complete the exam will be sent via email with the self-study curriculum. Students pass the exam by earning a score of at least 70 percent.
Exam Retake Policy
Individuals who do not pass the exam the first time will be allowed one complimentary retake. If a third attempt is needed, an exam retake fee will apply. After a third attempt without passing the exam, the individual is no longer eligible to take the exam for certification without re-enrolling in the program.
