NAMIC urged the Vermont House Commerce & Economic Development Committee to exempt property/casualty insurers from a wide sweeping bill, H. 121, to protect consumer data. The association wrote, “NAMIC appreciates the sponsor’s thoughtful intent to strengthen Vermont’s consumer privacy laws but urges the sponsor and committee to consider amendments that would expand the proposed [Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act] exemption to include property and casualty insurers.”
