Jon Schnautz

Jon has more than 15 years of legislative and regulatory experience. Most recently, he was Chief of Staff to Texas State Representative John Smithee, a longtime chair of the House Insurance Committee, and he has also held the positions of General Counsel and Senior Policy Advisor on insurance to the Speaker of the Texas House. Jon was also an attorney at Thompson & Knight, LLP, and a Policy Analyst for the Office of State Senator Todd Staples.

He holds a J.D. with High Honors from the University of Texas Law School and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas.
