Renewal Requirements
Beginning the calendar year after certification is achieved, MIPs are required to pay a renewal fee and attend a qualifying continuing education event by December 31 each year to remain active in the program.
Qualifying MIP CE events include any in-person NAMIC event or at least one virtual series in NAMIC’s Insurance Professional Skills Development program. Participants attending a qualifying event for MIP CE credit are required to complete the Attendee Evaluation emailed to them after the event to confirm their attendance and MIP participation.
Annual Recertification Fee
The annual recertification fee is $125 ($190 for nonmembers) per certified MIP and can be paid by logging into your NAMIC.org account and navigating to the My Re-Certification page under the My Education tab.
If you are a company representative who would like to pay for multiple MIP annual recertification fees at once, please follow these instructions: How To Pay Recertification Fees for People Within Your Company.
Grace Periods
Individuals who are not able to attend their required CE event within the expected one-year time frame or whose renewal has lapsed by less than 12 months may purchase a grace period to extend their renewal date by one year. MIPs are allowed a maximum of two grace periods throughout the life of their certification. The annual renewal fee is still required regardless of whether a grace period has been granted.
Grace periods can be purchased for $150 ($225 for nonmembers) by logging into your NAMIC.org account and navigating to the My Re-Certification page under the My Education tab.
