Event Coordinator

Association Services

The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) has a new opportunity for an Event Coordinator in our Association Services department. This full-time position will focus on planning educational events and virtual education programs for association clients managed by NAMIC.

Essential functions of the position include:

  • Coordinates all meeting planning details (speaker research, logistical and presentation material coordination, preparation of meeting specifications and hotel room lists, maintain event budget, hotel vetting and contract negotiations, and related duties) for in-person events and virtual webinars.
  • Coordinates and participates in the arrangements for respective event planning committee meetings.
  • Serves as liaison to hotel/meeting facility for events.
  • Assists in preparing board reports and memos for client in-person and virtual events.
  • Provides customer support by telephone and/or e-mail (answering questions, fulfilling requests) for association services clients and event attendees.
  • Supports all aspects of Association Services operations, including following office procedures, organizing, using filing systems, and related duties.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent length of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Meeting planning experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency—Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a time-sensitive work environment.
  • Ability to manage budgets and meet bottom line net income objectives.
  • Ability to act independently with sole ownership and accountability of projects.
  • Must be available for occasional overnight travel including by car and by air.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Communications Assistant

Association Services

The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) has a new opportunity for a Communications Assistant in our Association Services department. This full-time position will support social media presence, website content, database updates, and communication support for clients in NAMIC's Association Management Company.

Essential functions of the position include:

  • Communications Support: Develops associations’ electronic communications as assigned including emails/e-promos, social media, creation of reports, leadership manuals, PowerPoint development, surveys, etc.
  • Administrative Support: Maintains accurate databases for association clients making updates as necessary, running reports, updating records, managing dues, and compiling contact lists.
  • Marketing Support: Coordinates tactical marketing projects to promote associations’ products, services, and activities as directed.
  • Website Content Updates: Conducts website changes such as adding pages, general edits, and building events.
  • Meeting and Event Support: Creates promotional content and events in software used by Association Services and on applicable websites; occasionally supports on-site event operations.
  • Customer Support: Provides telephone and e-mail customer support (answering questions, fulfilling requests) for association client boards, staff, and members.

Qualifications include:

  • Microsoft software product proficiency—Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, one to three years minimum experience with the MS Office application suite is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent length of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in social media communication and Squarespace or similar software or ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to use Word, Canva, or similar software to develop marketing content and/or client documents.
  • Ability to design, create, copy edit, proofread, and revise electronic communications.
  • Excellent eye for detail and ability to catch mistakes.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background and MVR check.
  • Must be available for occasional travel and on-site event support.

The salary range is $20.51 per hour ($40,000 annually) to $22.05 per hour ($43,000 annually) based on a 37.5-hour work week and relevance of experience. Part-time Data Entry Clerk

Corporate Affairs

The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) has a new opportunity for a Data Entry Clerk in our Corporate Affairs department. This part-time position performs primary research and information gathering functions related to timely, accurate, and consistent delivery of data to support advocacy, member information, and marketing efforts for the association.

Essential functions of the position include:
  • Maintains data quality by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Maintains database by entering new or updating existing people and organization records with information from multiple data sources.
  • Acquires data from primary or secondary data sources to resolve deficiencies and update records.
  • Audits the authenticity, completeness, and consistency of data.
  • Advises supervisor of issues related to data.
  • Maintains cooperative working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Performs any other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications include:

  • Experience with database concepts preferred.
  • Understanding of interdependencies between tables/files and primary keys (1 item in table A matching the same in table B).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred; Microsoft Access or relational database exposure is a plus.
  • Prior experience working in the insurance industry or an association is a plus.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background and MVR check.
