Generative artificial intelligence-driven process innovation occurs across three dimensions: task-level improvement, workflow redesign, and organizational redesign. These dimensions differ in the co-invention effort required and the economic value delivered. As the technology matures, adoption will shift from enhancing existing tasks to enabling new ones within redesigned workflows – some of which will be coordinated and executed by AI agents in novel organizational structures. Attendees will gain a strategic understanding of how generative AI, as a general-purpose technology, can drive process innovation, enhancing existing tasks to enabling new ones within redesigned workflows – some of which will be coordinated and executed by AI agents in novel organizational structures.
