The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a Part 573 Safety Recall Report Jan. 30 for 100 percent of the 2,193,869 Tesla vehicles.
A Jan. 8, 2024, NHTSA routine compliance audit found that every Tesla since 2012 had visual warning indicators whose letters’ font size were smaller than the one-eighth inch prescribed in FMVSS Nos. 105 and 135, “which could reduce the driver’s detection of it when illuminated, increasing the risk of a collision.” Neither NHTSA nor Telsa identified any crashes, injuries or deaths be related to this condition.
