NAMIC testified in support of the Maryland Insurance Administration’s departmental bill on public adjusters, SB 231/HB 36. The bill strengthens existing Maryland law and provides even greater protections by increasing the number of days an insured age 65 and over can rescind or cancel a contract with a public adjuster and prohibits public adjusters from soliciting business within a certain period of time.
There was no public opposition to the bill in committee, and it will likely be on one of the first committee voting lists of the session.
