NAMIC-opposed HB 63, which would repeal the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Commission, passed out of the House Judiciary without any fiscal note being attached. NAMIC and its trade colleagues believe this legislation is unnecessary and detrimental to the workers’ compensation insurance process. The bill would return workers’ compensation appeals to the Superior Court and remove them from the subject matter expertise and timely review of the commission.
NAMIC will continue to oppose this legislation in the House Finance Committee, which will now be considering the bill.
