Maggie Seidel has joined the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies as senior vice president of strategic communications. In this role, Seidel will oversee all marketing and advocacy communications for the association and its more than 1,300 member companies.

“Maggie brings a wealth of experience, from the coast to the heartland,” said Neil Alldredge, NAMIC’s president and CEO. “Mutual insurers are built on their bond with policyholders. Risk is changing fast — more extreme weather, more lawsuit abuse, steady inflation. It’s more important than ever to tell the story of how members stand with their policyholders through it all. Maggie has the skills and the track record to help us tell that story to even more people.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining NAMIC at such an important time for the industry,” said Seidel. “Mutual insurers do quiet, steady work. They stand by their policyholders long before trouble hits and long after. I look forward to helping more Americans see that and to showing them what makes mutuality worth choosing.”

Seidel joins NAMIC from Finseca, a national group for financial security professionals. She started there with the task of building the brand from the ground up and rose to chief growth officer – growing the group’s membership and strengthening its finances along the way.

Before Finseca, Seidel spent her career in public service and advocacy. She ran a governor’s office. She advised several members of Congress. And she also worked for two major trade groups – one serving the nation’s largest retail banks and one in the property/casualty insurance sector.

Seidel is a graduate of Villanova University. She also holds two master’s degrees – one from George Mason University and one from Fordham University.
