Biography
Andrew Pauley, CPCU, WCP, serves as associate general counsel for NAMIC. Prior to taking on his current role, he was public policy counsel, supporting the state, federal, and international/regulatory teams and covering topics such as civil justice reform, legal system abuse issues, and other national litigation and regulatory concerns. He has also served as the lead representative on NAMIC’s public policy development groups, including the Workers’ Compensation Council, the Amicus Working Group, the COVID-19 Litigation Working Group, the Market Regulation Working Group, and the American Law Institute Working Group. He also supports and participates in the NAIC Working Group.
Prior to NAMIC, Pauley served in multiple roles in the insurance industry, including acting commissioner, deputy commissioner, and general counsel in the West Virginia Offices of the Insurance Commissioner for more than 10 years.
Pauley has an undergraduate and law degrees from West Virginia University. While at law school, he received the Order of Barristers by the faculty. He also holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and then Workers’ Compensation Professional designations. He is a member of the West Virginia State Bar.
