The Indiana House Judiciary Committee passed HB 1160 on Jan. 29, a bill that is looking to address commercial cases in third-party litigation funding and defines foreign interests and disclosure requirements. Previously, Rep. Matt Lehman passed a TPLF bill based on consumer lending.
Both efforts are supported by NAMIC and the industry. Rep. Lehman will seek to pass the bill onto the Senate and potentially bring the language to NCOIL to create a national model.
