SB 2087, the wildfire risk and insurance study, has been introduced and assigned the Senate Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection and the Senate Committee on Ways and Means. No public hearing has been scheduled yet.
The legislation requires the Insurance Commissioner to conduct a study on wildfire risk and insurance and to submit the report to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2025.
NAMIC will work with its members and trade partners to evaluate the scope of the legislative project and the specific requirements and authorized participants of the study.
