RE: Oregon Legislature Says ‘No’ to Plaintiff Attorney Efforts to Increase Their Profits at Expense of Insurance Consumers
“NAMIC commends the Oregon Legislature for defeating plaintiff attorney legislative efforts to turn every insurance business practice into a potential Unfair Trade Practices Act legal claim and make Oregon a first- and third-party bad faith and class action litigation war zone.
“NAMIC extensively lobbied against HB 3160 and the other anti-tort reform legislation because these bills would have significantly driven-up insurance defense costs for insurers, which would have adversely impacted the affordability of insurance for individuals and businesses.”
