No-Fault Insurance [S]

Our Position

Historically, NAMIC has favored no-fault laws, but it has become clear that developing a single, national policy position on possible reforms to the no-fault laws is not possible. As a consequence, NAMIC has advocated in the past for specific reforms in some no-fault states while, at the same time, encouraging the repeal of no-fault laws where legislative impasses prevented the opportunity for any meaningful reforms to occur. NAMIC will continue to assess reforms to each state’s no-fault law and apply a set of principles that it believes could enable the no-fault laws to become more efficient and less expensive for consumers.
