Vaun Cleveland

Vaun Cleveland serves as federal affairs director in the association’s Washington, D.C., office.

Cleveland brings to NAMIC a history of tackling complex policy issues for government agencies at both the federal and local levels. He was most recently with the American Academy of Actuaries, where he served in the role of risk management and financial reporting policy analyst. Prior to that, Cleveland worked at the District of Columbia Department of Insurance, in the Securities and Banking division providing public affairs and legal support. He has also worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant to Rep. Ed Towns, D-N.Y.

Cleveland earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Howard University and a Juris Doctorate from the university’s School of Law. He lives in Washington D.C. with his wonderful wife and spirited son.
