Missouri: Regulator Seeks Company Input on Handling Joplin Debris Removal Issues
The Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration is assisting the city of Joplin in its efforts to close the books with the federal government on payments for debris removal. As part of the process, Joplin expects to be audited on its efforts to collect money from citizens whose insurance covered debris removal.
At some point the process will involve insureds seeking information from their carriers. The DIFP wants to make the process as smooth as possible, and it will host a conference call with company staff to determine the best way to proceed. The call-in details are:
Debris Removal Conference Call

2:00 p.m Central Time
Telephone Number: 877-820-7831
The DIFP drafted a memo that explores the different procedures being considered. NAMIC encourages members with Joplin debris removal claims to review the document and participate in the call.
