SAN DIEGO (September 20, 2010) – The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies will recognize its newest class directors to complete the Farm Mutual Directors Certification program later today during its 115th Annual Convention.
The 2010 class includes 155 designees, more than 29 of whom were present at convention to receive their recognition during the Farm Mutual Conference Annual Business Meeting.
NAMIC launched the program in 2007 to recognize farm mutual insurance company directors for their educational accomplishment and their dedication to professionalism. Since the beginning of the program, more than 1,150 directors have enrolled and 190 have become certified. A complete list of the Class of 2010 can be found here.
To become a certified farm mutual director, interested parties must complete an application form; be an active director of a farm mutual company at the time of completion; and complete four courses from each of the three modules – Management, Operations & Insurance, and Finance & Accounting – within five years of enrolling in the program. Certified directors must then complete four hours of coursework every two years to maintain their certification.
