Arkansas House Passes Bill Banning Accident Response Fees
The Arkansas House of Representatives passed yesterday afternoon HB 1895, an Act to Prohibit the Imposition of an Accident Response Service Fee, on a vote of 87-7. The bill ensures Arkansas citizens are not subject to double taxation for core government services.
The bill now moves on to the Senate for consideration.
In the days preceding the House vote, NAMIC distributed two alerts requesting that members call their representatives asking that they vote "yes" on the bill. NAMIC thanks you for your involvement on this important issue. Through your support, we were able to get past the first hurdle, but our job is not yet complete. As the bill weaves its way through the Senate, NAMIC members writing business in Arkansas will be asked again to assist in ensuring this bill becomes law.
