NAMIC will be holding a conference call for its members writing business in Michigan on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 3 p.m. EDT. The purpose of the call will be to update companies on the legislative, regulatory, and legal developments in Michigan that have and will continue to direct advocacy activity on behalf of NAMIC’s members.
The long-running battle over credit-based insurance scoring has reached a precipice this year, culminating in the October consideration of the industry’s position by the Michigan Supreme Court. Also on the judicial landscape is an issue contesting the NAIC’s database fees and interpretation of its authority in Michigan.
As many members are aware, the legislative landscape in Michigan is equally troublesome. Most notable is the recent 12-strong package of bad faith bills that passed the Michigan House that now resides in the Senate.
NAMIC is offering this conference call as a service to our members to give an update on our efforts in this critical environment as well give members a forum to discuss the issues with our staff of advocacy professionals who are battling on your behalf.
