Study: Catastrophe Losses Were Highest in Europe During 2007

Catastrophe-related economic losses from natural and man-made catastrophes around the world exceeded $70 billion in 2007. More than 20,000 people lost their lives. In the aftermath, property insurers were hit by claims totaling $28 billion.
