McCarran-Ferguson Opposition, War-room – Subject of CNBC story today

WASHINGTON (March 7, 2007) — Representatives of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) and its Congressional Contact Program (CCP) Task Force were interviewed today for a story on CNBC. The camera crew descended onto NAMIC’s Washington, D.C., offices following today's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on legislation to repeal the McCarran-Ferguson Act, which provides insurers a limited exemption to federal antitrust laws.

With NAMIC’s McCarran-Ferguson war-room serving as a backdrop, the crew taped Task Force members as they kicked off the 2007 grassroots program. The crew also interviewed NAMIC Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Carl Parks about the unintended consequences of repealing the Act.
