This edition of the NAMIC Annual Survey of New State Insurance Law Enactments reports on 781 property/casualty related laws that were enacted in 45 states and the District of Columbia during 2008. This compares with 1,270 similar laws passed in 2007. The states of Arkansas, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota and Texas did not hold legislative sessions in 2007.

Auto-related legislation continued to be the largest percentage of bills enacted, with bills dealing with low-speed vehicles being passed in several states.
