Vehicle Thefts

Establishes the District of Columbia Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Commission and a Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Fund to reduce motor vehicle theft in the District of Columbia. Effective date: July 18, 2008.

Producer Licensing

Amends the Producer Licensing Act of 2002 to establish uniformity between District law and regulations and national standards by, among other actions, establishing categories of limited lines licenses and modifying the term of an initial producer license to coincide with a producer's birth month; to authorize the fingerprinting of an applicant for an insurance producer license; and to clarify various provisions. Effective date: May 13, 2008.

State Regulation

Establishes an Act to require every property and casualty insurance company doing business in the District of Columbia, unless otherwise exempted by the Commissioner, to annually submit the opinion of an Appointed Actuary entitled Statement of Actuarial Opinion in accordance with the appropriate NAIC Property and Casualty Annual Statement Instructions. Effective date: March 23, 2009.
