State Affairs Issues

NAMIC believes the property/casualty industry is best served by a competitive marketplace where insurers can actively compete for policyholders in a regulatory environment that protects consumers but does not stifle competition with onerous laws and regulations. Our State Affairs Managers track a wide range of legislative and regulatory issues in the state capitols and before the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, working in tandem with our state advocacy partners.

Staff also works closely with members of our State Affairs Committee to identify and develop state issue positions. Once positions are formulated, they are forwarded to the NAMIC Board of Directors, where they are approved and become official NAMIC policy.
