2009 was a year unlike any in recent memory. As a result of the economic storm, many employers made changes – sometimes dramatic – to their total rewards programs. Following 2010 as a year of recovery, what does 2011 hold? What are organizations doing to ensure they attract and retain key talent, while being fiscally sensitive? During this session, we’ll explore the compensation, benefit, and other total reward trends employers need to know for the coming year. We’ll examine projected salary increase budgets, the impact of variable compensation on total rewards, and creative, low-cost ways employers are rewarding employees. In this interactive dialogue, Jennifer Loftus will explore participant and best practice alternatives to pay raises when addressing compensation for employees who stay longer in their roles than traditionally expected. When employees remain in their positions for long periods of time, employee morale concerns result surrounding how to compensate the "maxed out" employee. The program will review national trend data on the wants and needs of long-term employees, the dilemma created by pay systems with formal pay range maximums, the process successful organizations follow in developing alternative reward programs, and a review of best practice programs.
