NAMIC Directors' Boot Camp is designed to educate board members of mutual insurance companies on their roles in their companies by addressing the more complex issues and risks involved in strategic decisions as well as the key areas needed to understand the mutual insurance industry. The curriculum is consistent for each Boot Camp and is led by a core group of faculty.
Advanced Boot Camp focuses on board of directors and targets directors who already have experience in the area of governance. It is not a pre-requisite to have attended Directors' Boot Camp, but it is very important to have a good understanding of governance prior to attending Advanced Boot Camp. The areas of succession planning, governance for mutuals, liability issues, and financial statements will be discussed in greater depth.
We specifically develop our educational programming with our members in mind. NAMIC is comprised of a diverse membership and there are a variety of events to meet your needs. This seminar is designed for board members from multiline insurance companies. Attendees do not need to have completed the Directors' Boot Camp to attend, but it is very important that attendees have a good understanding of governance prior to attending Advanced Boot Camp.
If you feel you need a warm up course on financial literacy, plan to attend this session. A financial literacy quiz is available to evaluate your proficiency on this subject and help you to evaluate the necessity of this workshop in advance of the regular course work.
"I have attended other conferences and I would give this one an A+. As a director, everything in the Boot Camp was aimed at us. Speakers were knowledgeable and presented the material in a manner that was digestible. The small group exercises added value to the Boot Camp." Dwayne Herring - Director |
