Workers' compensation - benefits, claims or treatments

Relates to the Conveyance Safety Act for elevators and other related equipment; provides that employers are liable for all reasonable medical, surgical and hospital services for an injured employee's restoration of health and employment under the workers' compensation provisions of law; relates to setting of fees for those services by the Workers' Compensation Court; provides that such insurers may negotiate a contract for fees that are greater or less than the fees established by the court. Effective: dates vary.

Omnibus insurance law changes

Relates to insurance; changes provisions relating to mandated coverages and services, premium payments, premium reserves of title insurers, motor vehicle service contracts, the Managing General Agents Act, form filings and bonds; adopts the Senior Protection in Annuity Transactions Act; eliminates provisions relating to the Interstate Insurance Receivership Compact; provides severability. Effective: March 13, 2006.

Adopts the Financial Data Protection and Consumer Notification of Data Security Breach Act; relates to the Sale of Checks and Funds Transmission Act, the Mortgage Bankers Registration and Licensing Act, the Delayed Deposit Services Licensing Act, installment loans, state-chartered bank loan limits, reorganization of nationally-chartered banks, bankers banks, community development investment, registration under the Securities Act, and powers of banks, building and loan associations and credit unions. Effective: April 6, 2006.

Motor vehicle insurance - commercial auto

Relates to federal transportation regulations; updates explosive, fireworks, liquefied petroleum gas, commercial operator licensing, motor vehicle size and load requirements and motor carrier provisions; eliminates specified motor carrier enforcement provisions; regulates all motor carriers transporting persons or property in intrastate commerce and transportation of hazardous materials; provides minimum levels of financial responsibility for motor carriers and qualifications for driving instructors. Effective: March 6, 2006.

Workers' compensation -- miscellaneous

Appropriates funds to aid in carrying out the provisions of Legislative Bill 489; relates to fees for medical services provided under workers' compensation claims; provides that salaries and funds shall not exceed a specified amount. Effective: April 13, 2006.
