Motor vehicle insurance - enforcement issues

Relates to reports of traffic accidents involving certified law enforcement officers and other emergency responders. Effective: July 1, 2006.

HF 2362

Motor vehicle insurance - salvage title

Provides for reassignment of a salvage certificate of title for a motor vehicle; permits a dealer or recycler to reassign the salvage title to another dealer or recycler, or to any other person, without first obtaining a new salvage certificate of title. Effective: July 1, 2006.

Motor vehicle insurance - traffic offenses

Relates to criminal penalties for a driver convicted of failure to stop and render aid at the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious injury; creates a felony. Effective: July 1, 2006.

Motor vehicle insurance - all-terrain vehicles

Relates to the operation of all-terrain vehicles on the highway for limited purposes, including mowing, installing trail signs or providing maintenance on a snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle trail. Effective: July 1, 2006.

Motor vehicle insurance - traffic offenses

Relates to safe motor vehicle operation, including penalties for motor vehicle violations causing death or serious injury; provides for classroom instruction for driver education courses regarding sharing the road with bicycles and motorcycles. Effective: July 1, 2006.

Omnibus law changes

Relates to the insurance division of the department of commerce including the securities and regulated industries bureau, insurance premium taxes, the uniform securities act, insurance division procedures, regulation of insurance companies including administrative penalties, motor vehicle service contracts, county and state mutual insurance associations, and reciprocal or interinsurance insurers, consolidation, merger and reinsurance contracts, insurance holding company systems, and cemeteries. Effective: July 1, 2006.
