I recently wrote an article that will be published in the newsletter produced by the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) for its members. NCOIL is well aware of NAMIC's position in opposition to the creation of an Optional Federal Charter and wanted that view expressed to their member legislators. I went a little further in that I also made the case that NAMIC is not merely in favor of maintaining state regulation in its current form, rather, we support a reformed system of state regulation.
