Creating Better Consumers by Teaching Teenagers About Insurance

In the mid-1980s, the insurance industry attempted to deal with some very significant challenges. Congress was drafting tax legislation that would change the tax structure for insurance companies and eliminate many distinctions between the various types of corporate structures. Industry representatives negotiating the bill's language became increasingly more frustrated with the lack of understanding of insurance by the members of Congress and their staffs.
