MEDIA ADVISORY: Eric Dinallo to Speak at NAMIC Convention

Who: New York Insurance Superintendent Eric Dinallo

What: Speech to 1,700+ attendees gathered for Annual Convention of National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC)

When: Wed., Oct.1, 2008, 9:45 – 10:30 a.m. (time approx).

Where: Downtown Mariott Philadelphia

Details: In his first major address to an insurance industry audience since the AIG financial crisis, New York’s chief insurance regulator will speak to attendees gathered for the annual meeting of property/casualty insurers. Dinallo, who played a critical role in negotiations to salvage AIG, has said the AIG problem was with exotic investment instruments and with the federal regulation of the holding company, not with state insurance regulation. He has emphasized that the insurance units are solvent and policyholders are secure. Mr. Dinallo has also been an active supporter of reforms in the New York market and has taken a leadership role on insurance regulation nationally.
