NAMIC Assistant Vice President and IN magazine Receive Indiana Society of Association Executives STAR Awards

INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 6, 2007) – The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies announced that Larry Baile, NAMIC’s assistant vice president of administrative services, was honored Tuesday evening as the 2007 Association Professional of the Year by the Indiana Society of Association Executives.

"Larry is a consummate association professional who for 28 years has served NAMIC's members," said Chuck Chamness, president & CEO of NAMIC. "In addition to managing NAMIC's annual convention – a $1 million event that is the largest gathering of its kind in the industry – Larry is a leader in the local association community. This award is well-deserved recognition by his peers"

Baile has served NAMIC for 27 years, holding several positions, including member services representative, director of marketing, and director of administrative services before taking over as assistant vice president of administrative service. His primary responsibilities include supervision of building and ground operations, space planning and office renovations, meeting and seminar site investigation and contracts, and manager of the NAMIC Annual Convention. Baile is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the ISAE and earned the Certified Association Executive designation in 1995.

ISAE honors groups and individuals for their excellent work each year at its STAR Awards. ISAE judges nominees for Association Professional of the Year based on their contributions to the management function of their organization; their involvement and support of ISAE programs and services; their professional development through ISAE or through other activities; and their additional leadership and service in their communities.

NAMIC was furthered honored at Tuesday’s STAR Awards when IN magazine was awarded as Magazine of the Year for associations with an annual budget of more than $500,000. IN, formerly Property/Casualty Insurance, underwent a complete redesign two years ago, is published quarterly for NAMIC members and paid subscribers.

NAMIC was founded in 1895 as a full-service national trade association serving property/casualty industry. Its 1,400 member companies underwrite more than 40 percent of the property/casualty premium in the United States.

The Indiana Society of Association Executives is a professional society for the management staff of trade, professional, and philanthropic associations. ISAE provides opportunities for the exchange of ideas, information and experiences among its members, and promotes efficiency in the managing of associations. ISAE is a not-for-profit organization based in Indianapolis and recently reached a membership goal of 501 members.
