NAMIC Kicks Off 112th Annual Convention

GRAPEVINE, Texas (Sept. 16, 2007) - The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies kicked off its 112th Annual Convention today at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center.

This four-day - Sept. 16-19 - event is packed with industry-related information sessions as well as an exhibit show that will allow attendees to network with and gather information from more than 300 companies from around the United States and Canada.

Headlining the Opening General Session will be former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. In his keynote speech, "Saying What You're Going to Do.and Doing It," he will talk about how to unite a team in order to succeed.

On tap for Wednesday is Bob Beckel, a liberal strategist, and Cal Thomas, a conservative columnist, who will bring their USA Today column "Common Ground" to a live audience. Convention attendees will hear these two talk, or possibly argue, about finding common ground in their personal and political beliefs.

Other events, such as Management School, the NAMIC Auxiliary Fun Run & Walk, and the Insurance Education Institute Silent Auction, will be held during the convention days.

Finishing out the convention will be Texas native Lyle Lovett, performing at the final banquet in the Texas Ballroom on Sept. 19.
