Wayne F. White Named NAMIC's 2005 Chairman

WASHINGTON (Sept. 22, 2004)--Wayne F. White, CPA, PFMM, president and chairman of Home Mutual Fire Insurance Co., Conway, Ark., was elected chairman of the board of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) here today. The election took place during the association's business meeting, held at NAMIC's 109th Annual Convention at the Hilton Washington.

White announced that the theme for his 2004-2005 tenure is "Excellence in Leadership."

Robert A. Wadsworth, CPCU, CIC, was named chairman-elect. Wadsworth is president and CEO of Preferred Mutual Insurance Co., New Berlin, N.Y. Gerald P. Schmidt, CPCU, president of Mutual of Enumclaw Insurance Co., Enumclaw, Wash., was elected vice chairman, and John T. Hill, II, CPA, president and COO of Magna Carta Cos., New York, continues as secretary/treasurer of the association.

Newly-elected members of the NAMIC board of directors are: Barbara Baurer, CLU,CHFC, CPCU, executive vice president/COO, Country Insurance and Financial Services, Bloomington, Ill.; Brian V. Boyden, CPCU, CLU, CHFC, FLMI, executive vice president, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., Bloomington, Ill.; John Bykowski, president/CEO, Secura Insurance Cos., Appleton, Wis.; John W. Fisher, president, Auto-Owners Insurance Co., Lansing, Mich.; Phillip E. Love, executive vice president/CEO, South Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co., Cayce, S.C.; Richard M. Raun, CIC, secretary/treasurer, Woodland Mutual Insurance Co., Carlton, Minn.; Daniel E. Stone, president/CEO, Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance Co., Indianapolis.

Directors-at-Large were also elected during the business meeting. They are: Jay W. Chadwick, president/CEO, Tuscarora Wayne Group of Cos., Wyalusing, Pa.; Robert Forsythe, senior vice president, Farm Mutual Reinsurance Plan, Ontario, Canada; Peggy McDaniel, PFMM, secretary/treasurer/manager, Old Missouri Mutual Insurance Co., Buffalo, Mo.; Douglas M.
