WASHINGTON D.C. (Sept. 20, 2004)--During its annual business meeting here today, the Farm Mutual Conference of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Cos. (NAMIC) elected the board of directors to serve during 2004-2005. The business meeting was held during NAMIC's 109th NAMIC Annual Convention at the Hilton Washington. The Farm Mutual Conference Leadership Development Committee chose the slate of nominees elected to lead the Conference in the coming year.
Marilyn Schwickerath, PFMM, president of the Central Iowa Mutual Insurance Assn., Story City, Iowa, was elected chairman of the board. The post of chairman-elect was filled by Doug Sullivan, PFMM, president of Svea Mutual Insurance Co., Orion, Ill., while Julie Buchmeier-Thompson, PFMM, secretary-treasuer of German Mutual Insurance Assn. of Nebraska, Auburn, was named vice chairman.
Joining Immediate Past Chairman Peggy McDaniel, PFMM, Old Missouri Mutual Insurance Co., Buffalo, Mo. are board members Ginger Baker, Trade Lake Mutual Insurance Co., Frederic, Wis.; Bruce Thomas, PFMM, heartland Mutual Insurance Co., Ft. Dodge, Iowa; and Jerry Zenke, PFMM, Mount Prairie Mutual Insurance Co., Houston, Minn.
Organized to serve the needs of NAMIC farm mutual member companies, the purpose of the Farm Mutual Conference is to encourage new membership and provide special services and communications geared especially for their needs.
