NAMIC Property Casualty Conference Elects 2005 Leadership

WASHINGTON (Sept. 20, 2004)--During its annual business meeting here today, the Property Casualty Conference of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Cos. (NAMIC) elected the board of directors to serve during 2004-2005. The business meeting was held during NAMIC's 109th Annual Convention at the Hilton Washington. The Property Casualty Conference Board chose the slate of nominees elected to lead the Conference in the coming year.

G. Richer (Rick) Budke, president/CEO of Sublimity Insurance Co., Sublimity, Ore., was elected chairman of the board. The post of chairman-elect was filled by David L. Lehman, president of Mennonite Mutual Insurance Co., Orrville, Ohio, while Gary Myers, executive vice president of Shelter Mutual Insurance Co., Columbia, Mo., was named vice chairman.

Joining Immediate Past Chairman Judy Jackson, president and CEO of NLC Insurance Companies, Norwich, Conn., are board members Darwin Copeman, president of Cameron Mutual Insurance Co., Cameron, Mo.; Tom Dials, president of Armed Forces Insurance Exchange, Leavenworth, Kan.; Stuart Henderson, president/CEO of Western National Mutual Insurance Co., Minneapolis; and Sandra Parrillo, president/CEO, Providence Mutual Fire Insurance Co., Warwick, R.I.

The liaison to the NAMIC board is Dan Stone, president/CEO of Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance Co., Indianapolis. The PC Conference Board Liaison is Kristin L. Sizelove, manager, member services, NAMIC.

Other newly elected board members include Rob Hovland, president, Center Mutual Insurance Co., Rugby, N.D. and Henry R. Gibbel, executive vice president, Lititz Mutual Group, Lititz, Pa.; David Sommer, president of Germania Farm Mutual Insurance Assoc., Brenham, Texas; and Jim Kennedy, Ohio Mutual Insurance Group, Bucyrus, Ohio.

Organized to serve the needs of NAMIC property/casualty companies, the purpose of the Property Casualty Conference is to encourage new membership and provide special services and communications geared especially for their needs.
