Colorado: Amendments to Administrative Rule Proposed
The Department of Regulatory Agencies has scheduled a rulemaking hearing on its proposed amendments to an administrative rule pertaining to Penalties and Timelines Concerning Division Inquiries and Documents Requests. Ballot Initiatives: Colorado Ground Zero
Ballot initiatives tend to mobilize certain types of voters, and this year’s election cycle is likely to do the same. According to the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center, there are 152 initiatives in 35 states in November, many of them addressing social issues such as gay marriage and gay adoptions. For the second year in a row the vehicles most likely to collide with a deer are in West Virginia. Using its deer claims data from the last half of 2007 and the first half of 2008 and motor vehicle registration counts by state from the Federal Highway Administration, State Farm estimates the chances of a West Virginia vehicle colliding with a deer during the next 12 months at 1 in 45. Colorado: Department of Regulatory Agencies, Insurance Industry Discuss Insurance Ombudsman Bill
The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies and the Colorado Division of Insurance hosted a meeting with insurance carriers on July 8 to discuss HB-1216. The bill requires Insurance Commissioner Marcy Morrison to report to the Joint Budget Committee on or before Sept. 15 on the need, estimated cost, and implementation requirements of establishing an insurance ombudsman in Colorado.
