Arizona: Governor Signs Consumer-Protection Auto Glass Repair Fraud Prevention Bill

On April 27, Gov. Jan Brewer signed into law HB 2463, Auto Glass Repair and Fraudulent Practices. The bill had passed out of the House on a 50-4 vote, the Senate on a 28-0 vote, and then the amended bill passed out of the House on a Concurrence Vote of 57-3. (Posted: 5/4/2010)

Arizona: Consumers Face Legislative Threat to Insurer’s Ability to Provide Rates Accurately Reflecting Personal Risk of Loss Exposure

SB 1399, a credit-based insurance scoring ban bill, was introduced Feb. 1 in the Arizona Legislature. The bill has been assigned to the Senate Rules Committee and the Senate Committee on Commerce and Economic Development. (Posted: 2/9/2010)

Arizona: Insurance Industry Contributes More Than $187 Million in Premium Tax Dollars to General Revenue Fund

West Virginia Leads Nation Again in Frequency of Deer-Vehicle Collisions; Michigan, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Arkansas Round Out Top Five

For the second year in a row the vehicles most likely to collide with a deer are in West Virginia. Using its deer claims data from the last half of 2007 and the first half of 2008 and motor vehicle registration counts by state from the Federal Highway Administration, State Farm estimates the chances of a West Virginia vehicle colliding with a deer during the next 12 months at 1 in 45.
