Ohio: June 2007 Akron-Canton Area Hailstorm Losses Now at Record High

FBI Issues Financial Crimes Report

The FBI on May 22 released the “Financial Crimes Report to the Public Fiscal Year 2007,” in which the bureau announced that it investigated 209 cases of insurance fraud resulting in 39 indictments and 47 convictions of insurance fraud criminals. (Posted: 5/28/2008)

FBI Issues 2007 Mortgage Fraud Report

Virginia: Insurance Fraud Convictions Going Up

According to the 2006 Annual Report released by the Insurance Fraud Program (IFP) of the Virginia State Police (VSP), convictions for insurance fraud and related crimes in Virginia are on the rise. There were 151 convictions in 2006, an increase of 74 percent. (Posted: 3/23/2007)

Research Shows Highest Rates of U.S. Identity Fraud in New York and the Western States

ID Analytics, Inc. announced Feb. 14 results of analytical research on U.S. identity fraud by geography. The new research, which is the first ever to be based on actual and attempted frauds rather than on consumer victim reports, shows the states with the highest rates of identity fraud are New York and the Western states of California, Nevada and Arizona.
