RE: NAMIC Promotes Strong Building Codes for Shelby County, Tennessee
"We strongly urged the Shelby County commissioners in Memphis, Tennessee, to adopt updates to their building codes at their meeting yesterday, including immediate implementation of all the updates before them.
"NAMIC is a national leader on building codes as part of the Build Strong Coalition. We believe that stronger building codes save lives, save property, and promote the longevity and prosperity of communities. In addition to saving lives and reducing property loss, building codes based on nationally recognized standards contribute to the durability of structures, and, in some locations, favorably affect the affordability and availability of insurance."
