Job Title: Executive Vice President & General Manager

 

Location: Richmond, VA
 

Description:

  1. VIRGINIA FARM BUREAU is in search of an Executive Vice President & General Manager for Virginia Farm Bureau's Mutual Insurance Company & Affiliates. This position is responsible for managing the property and casualty and life insurance programs in a manner that is ethical and profitable, including overseeing the financial activities of multiple companies with total gross revenue of $320 million dollars. Duties include developing and implementing strategies that will result in achievement of the annual goals set for Combined Ratio, Premium Growth, and Surplus, as well as overseeing the financial activities of the company. This position is also responsible for promoting Member Services and Membership Growth. This position reports to the President of the Company and the Board of Directors.

 
 

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have: Masters degree or equivalent experience. Insurance specific advanced courses/designations. Minimum 10 years experience in the property casualty and/or life insurance industry. Minimum 5 years management experience in property casualty or life insurance industry. Prior insurance sales, claims, financial management or underwriting experience. Strategic visionary. Strong presentation and public speaking skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to people at all levels in the organization. Experience with company mergers and acquisitions preferred.
