Gerald P. Schmidt is the president and CEO of Mutual of Enumclaw in Enumclaw, Wash., where he started working as a claims adjuster in November 1975.

Schmidt moved up the ranks of Mutual of Enumclaw, becoming senior vice president in 1990, executive vice president and general manager in 1993, and CEO and president in 1995. Before joining the Mutual of Enumclaw staff, he spent four years at Michigan Mutual Liability Co.

Also very busy in the Enumclaw and insurance industry communities, Schmidt is a member of the Enumclaw Rotary Club, is a past director of Enumclaw Area Chamber of Commerce and Enumclaw Downtown Partnership, and is a member on the board of directors for the Green River Community College Foundation. He has also served on the NAMIC Board of Directors since 2001, serving as chairman for 2006-2007.

A graduate of Wayne State University, Schmidt received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1975. He received his CPCU designation in 1993.
