John Bykowski, Chairman

John Bykowski is the president and CEO of SECURA Insurance in Appleton, Wis., and has served in that role since joining the company in 1997. In 2005, he was also named chairman of SECURA's board of directors.

SECURA has benefited from Bykowski's leadership, which has made a dramatic impact on the company's success. Policyholder surplus has doubled in the past five years has four consecutive years of A.M. Best's A (Excellent) rating and inclusion in the Ward Group Top 50.

Bykowski has 35 years of property/casualty experience. He held underwriting management positions at Milwaukee Mutual and Allstate Insurance from 1972 to 1979. He worked as vice president of casualty operations at Wisconsin Employers Group from 1979 to 1983, and then moved to West Bend Mutual where he was senior vice president of marketing from 1983 to 1997. Bykowski is a graduate of Marquette University.

Bykowski is active in the insurance industry and in his community. He has served on the board of directors for NAMIC, and is currently its chairman. He is also on the board of directors for the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, the Community Foundation, and M&I Bank Fox Cities.
