February 16, 2011 – U.S. Sen. Orin Hatch (R-UT) is presented NAMIC’s Benjamin Franklin Public Policy Award by Don Adams, president and CEO of Bear River Mutual Insurance Company of Murray, Utah. The award recognizes Sen. Hatch’s unwavering support and leadership on behalf of NAMIC members, insurance consumers, and the property/casualty insurers. Every two years, the NAMIC members who travel to Washington for the Congressional Contact Program – one of the foundations of NAMIC's effective, grassroots advocacy – distribute the awards on Capitol Hill to lawmakers who have earned them for their actions in the previous Congress.

Greetings from NAMIC's federal affairs department!
In this portion of the website you will find everything you will need to help you understand the challenges facing the property/casualty insurance industry here in Washington D.C. I recommend you take some time to explore the site and learn all you can about the federal affairs' team, our programs, and our key issues. We have created a one-stop-shop for resources on each issue, including the contact information for our knowledgeable NAMIC staff who can provide their expert opinions and answer any follow-up questions you may have.
NAMIC has very talented advocacy professionals, but our main asset is our membership. Coordinated, knowledgeable, and engaged, NAMIC members are the driving force behind our efforts to shape federal policy outcomes. A survey of our political action programs - such as NAMIC PAC and the Congressional Contact Program - will demonstrate just how we are able to effect change in Washington. Finally, if you have any questions regarding NAMIC's federal activities, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Jimi Grande
