Farms Growing in Size but Dwindling in Numbers

While the average farm size in 2007 increased by about three acres compared to the 2006 numbers, the total land in farms decreased by more than 1 million acres in the past year, according to the United States Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service report "Farms, Land in Farms, and Livestock Operations."
