As more and more people spend time online, the number and sophistication of "phishing" and "spoofing" scams sent out to consumers are continuing to increase dramatically. "Phishing" is a form of Internet fraud that aims to steal valuable information such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, user IDs and passwords. "Spoofing" is a technique used to gain unauthorized access to computers, whereby the intruder sends messages to a computer with an IP address indicating that the message is coming from a trusted host.
