Fun Run and Walk to Benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation
Tuesday, Sept. 21, 6 - 8 a.m.

The sixth annual running of this event will take place in downtown San Diego, right outside of the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Come enjoy scenic San Diego in the best way possible – with a leisurely run or walk through some of the city’s most picturesque settings. Runners/walkers will travel along downtown’s harbor-front pathways. The route will traverse scenic Embarcadero Park and its nearby attractions, including Seaport Village, the soaring sails of the Convention Center, and the scenic exterior of Petco Park. Runners will follow winding park paths that skirt the bay with its passing ships and towering Coronado Bridge just offshore. Along the way, you’ll pass scores of beautiful luxury yachts, kids flying kites in the bay breeze, and fisherman on the pier attempting to lure an evening’s meal. A traditional finish line awaits runners at the end of the route.

Participants can choose between a 5K run or a 3K walk, and all participants receive commemorative T-shirts. A light continental breakfast will be available.

Once you arrive in San Diego, you will need to register and pay for the event at the NAMIC Auxiliary booth in the exhibit hall, during the day on Monday, Sept. 20.

Registration cost is $35 per person. Proceeds from this event will benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

St. Baldrick's Foundation | Shaving the Way to Conquer Kids' CancerSt. Baldrick’s is about shaving your head in solidarity of children who lose their hair during cancer treatment. It all began in 1999, when three insurance executives turned their industry’s St. Patrick’s Day party into a benefit for kids with cancer. They turned heads – and opened wallets – of colleagues for the benefit of children’s cancer research. Between 2000 and 2006, more than $20 million has been raised and more than 26,000 heads have been shaved!
